Coronavirus hurt plans for Giorgio Armani’s Cruise show in the UAE

Several events have now be postponed or cancelled, including Giorgio Armani Cruise 2021 show which was scheduled to take place in April. According the official release from the Italian brand, the decision “has been taken as a precautionary measure in order to protect all the industry stakeholders, employees and guests who would be involved in the trip

Last month during Milan Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani showed it’s AW20 collection behind closed doors and livestreamed the runway on the brand’s website, Facebook and Instagram.

Since the number of people diagnosed positive for the virus in the UAE, schools and universities have decided to close for a month, while major events like the Dubai Boat Show and Art Dubai are also on hold.

Another key fashion event that’s due to take place next month in the city is Fashion Forward Dubai, but there has been no official update on whether it will go ahead or not. For now, follow our latest updates on the status of the Coronavirus in the UAE here.
